This site is dedicated to "Le chat des Chartreux":

  • The Chartreux is an old European breed obtain from a wild cat, characterized by a blue coat with a wooly texture and cupper to amber eyes. The Chartreux cats are also known for their exceptionally kind character.
The breed, even though known for centuires was almost lost twice.
  • There are some differences between the French lines Chartreux  and the American.
  • This site is dedicated to maintain the awareness of the breed, and especially to reinforce the "exposure" of the French type. However none of the content is meant to praise one type over the other, both types represents the Chartreux cat, as of today.
